Eyebeam: Our Story

Founded in 1997, Eyebeam was the very first space of its kind: a place to think creatively and critically about how technology was transforming our society. Eyebeam gives time, space and money through its residency program to artists whose work shapes our world – ranging from the first-ever open-source social sharing tool (reBlog, 2004) to more recently the open-source educational startup littleBits (2009), alongside arts activism such as the first Feminist Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon (2013). Everything Eyebeam does is guided by a focus on their values: openness, invention and justice.
